Blackjack
- Basic Strategy
Full
Game practice
This is a FREE Blackjack training strategy program, designed for you
to practice till you get it totally off pat so you can walk into a casino
and operate it without thinking.
The program starts in 'Test is Off' or learn mode, for
you to learn what to do in each situation. When you click 'Test is Off'
it hides the advice, so you can practice without advice. It scores you
1 point if you play correctly and subtracts 10 points if you get it
wrong and tells you what you should have done.
To start off, click 'Deal'. It will then deal a hand,
you can then Double/Split/Hit or Stand as you wish.
To move to test mode, click 'Test is Off', It will then display 'Test
isOn'. It will now keep track of your winnings, and also your score
of how correct or incorrect your play has been.
The advice is below to read at any time. The advice will
appear for each hand dealt and what to do with them as the hand progresses.
This method will reduce the casinos take to an absolute minimum (approx.
0.07 though don't quote me, might be lower might be higher!).
Naturally you want to have it so off pat, that you don't need to read
the advice, but if you read and think for each hand, you'll soon have
it off by heart.
The program is designed to practice the following scenario:-
Six decks of cards, if you have blackjack, i.e. 21 with an Ace and
a Ten, you are paid straight away with odds of 3-2 as long as dealers
card is not an Ace. (In which case you are offered an Insurance bet
(which basic strategy says don't take, so the program don't offer
it ).
Splitting:-
You can split any pair other than 4's, 5's and 10's (i.e. you CAN
split Ace's 2's, 3's 6's, 7's, 8's and 9's. That is you split your
pair and place an equal bet on the 'new' hand.
Doubling down:-
You can double down if your first two cards total 9,10
or 11. That is you add an equivalent bet and take ONE more card only.If
your count is equal to the dealer, your bet stands and you can take
you bet back.
(With the program you CAN double and split on any hand
the above is what the strategy is aimed at.

Bits
The program itself uses one 52 card deck and shuffles for
every hand dealt. This is NOT what the strategy is for though. The program
is to train you in how to play with a 4 to 6 deck pack as used in casinos.
Its designed teach and practice the basic strategy. For practice it doesn't
make any difference. Which in short means that you should do Better in
a real casino.
I might make one for playing with a 52 card deck, though
I'm not aware of any casinos the do that so not a lot of point. Further
I've no idea how the online blackjack casinos work.
30-6-10 corrected the split 8's wrong on the test bit.
